Description
This is what I think might a
Dummy Load from the 1930's or 40's.
I'm not sure and even my father a retired electronics guy is not sure
but thought it could be a dummy load.
This is what I know, it's 5" x 5" x 1 1/2" tall box and the 5 3/4 ft
cable goes inside.
I removed the cardboard bottom to see what was
inside and and looks like the cable is attached to a metal strip that is
encased in a hard tar like material.
The cardboard bottom has a layer of the hard tar like material on it
also.
The only clue is the nameplate. Majestic "Mighty Monarch of the Air"
I did find out Majestic Radio & Television Corp formed in 1933 was the
company that used the slogan "Mighty Monarch of the Air".
Like my father said " It looks like some sort of a "Dummy Load" for a
transmitter, but I don't know what Freq. Or Wattage" I agree with him
and don't think it would be useful in today's electronics but as a piece
for a vintage collection its kind of interesting.
