The Boston Cooking School Cook Book by Fannie Merritt Farmer. This cookbook was first published with 3000 copies in 1896 at Miss Farmer's own expense, but was an instant success.
By the time this 1930 edition, completely revised version was released 1,436,000 had been printed in every increasing amounts and by 1912 they were printing 50,000 a year.

This is the 1930 new edition, completely revised version both had a print run of 50,000. A Huge amount back then. This 8 1/4" x 5 3/4" hard cover has 831 pages and an addition 30 pages of advertisements for products of that time. Some which are still around today Knox Gelatine, Kitchenaid, Chase & Sanborn's Coffee, etc.

 Book is in great Condition for it's age. Pages are clean, 24 of the ad pages have a 1/2" to 3/4" dog ear fold on top of pages. Cover is tight but the first & second pages has pulled away from the binding as well as last page but are still firmly attached .  Covers have very little shelf wear but front and back cover as well as page edges have a couple of minor stains. A great classic cook book!
